My name is Sam Burnett and I'm a blogaholic. An early A Little Bit Of Wisdom In Every Box... (ALBOWIEB) tagline. My fight with verbal dysentery - watch the shame. That was the next. I don't really have one now.
The name ALBOWIEB was supposed to conjure an image of a cereal advert - wholegrain goodness in every pack, or some rubbish. I've been blogging in some form or another since 2003 - almost before the internet was invented, I think. I used to spend hours updating my website through Frontpage, I didn't really know what a blog was and that there were actual programs online that would do all that nonsense for you. What an amazing world to live in, that someone creates a system by which I can painlessly share dribblings of cogency with the entire world. It was a virtual revolution.
There was one dark year, back in 2006, when ALBOWIEB became No Added Succour. I loved the name, still do, but it lacked the ALBOWIEB spark, the character, the charisma, the verbal dysentery. These posts might be filled with terrible colourings and sugary crap, but I'm proud that there's at least a little bit of wisdom in every box, no matter how far you have to dig for it.
